Turning Sustainability Knowledge into Action

Sustainability cannot remain an intention. It must translate into practice through knowledgeable people, innovative enterprises and capable institutions.

Established in 2012, Ekonnect Knowledge Foundation is a not-for-profit knowledge and action platform for sustainability, working across five interconnected areas:

Community Awareness and Engagement: Promoting environmental awareness and sustainability literacy through outreach, education and participatory initiatives that encourage informed choices and collective action.

Professional Training and Capacity Building: Offering programmes on frontier sustainability topics, bridging academic learning and evolving market needs through practical, experience-based learning.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation Support: Helping entrepreneurs develop sustainable solutions through life cycle thinking, innovation impact assessment, business development and investor pitch preparation.

CSR Programme Management and Impact Assessment: Supporting the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of CSR initiatives to deliver measurable environmental and community benefits.

Knowledge Networking and Exchange: Connecting practitioners, researchers, businesses and institutions to share knowledge, particularly lessons from real-world experience, foster innovation and encourage informed, collaborative action.

Working across India and beyond, Ekonnect brings together professionals, businesses, governments, academia, entrepreneurs and communities to address evolving sustainability challenges.

Debunking the myths about plastic

Ekonnect Knowledge Foundation, Legasis Partners and Bombay Stock Exchange conducted a panel discussion on Beating the Plastic on the World Environment Day.

This event was conducted on World Environment Day. The theme was ‘Connecting People to Nature’.

A session on carpooling

A carpooling initiative taken up by the enthusiastic residents of Whispering Palms Society in Kandivali, Mumbai. Ekonnect Knowledge Foundation calculated their individual/group emission reductions, fuel and money savings achieved so far from their ongoing carpooling activity.

Not Just a walk in the park

Ekonnect Knowledge Foundation conducted five events in three different parks of Pune city and Mumbai. The aim was to give school children a new perspective on the urban parks they often visit and bring them close to nature.
